nonviolent struggles -- those bizarre and weird behavior
and activities in all the cultural fields -- during China's
Cultural Revolution. The author describes in detail the
origin, social background, various forms of wendou in all
major fields of China’s cultural life, and the most influential
wendou events in major cities and provinces, etc. The book
is a very informative read for general readers and an important
reference for scholars and researchers.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Born in
1950 in Chengdu, Sichuan province, Guanglu Zheng has
been studying the Cultural Revolution and the cultural
history of Sichuan area for about thirty years. A
winner of many literary awards, he has written extensively
on various topics and published several full-length
works. His recent book The Sichuanese in the Anti-Japanese
War has been awarded the "Outstanding Book Prize"
and "Outstanding Publishing Prize" of Sichuan.
