From Ironing Board to Corporate Board
The Chinese Laundry Experience

By Ginny Gong

Growing up in the back of a Chinese laundry was no picnic, but Ginny and her brother, Ken, did not know better. Playing among the dirty clothes, eating and doing homework on ironing boards was a way of life for the Eng children. This is the story of an immigrant family¡¯s struggle to survive the challenges of life in a strange country called America as seen through the eyes of the elder daughter. The joys, frustrations and challenges of a young girl emerging into adolescence are candidly portrayed in this chronicle of the Chinese in America.
