About the Author

Shuai Xuejian is a member of the Chinese Dramatists Association, an expert on the committee of the preservation of intangible cultural heritage in Guizhou province and the group leader of a heritage protection panel in Anshun city. Shuai has been working in the fields of literary federation and culture for over 40 years, and published scripts, lyrics and novels. He also focuses on the study of folk culture and has published several works concerning Anshun Tunpu culture and local drama. Wu Yumei is a translator of Chinese literature into English. Wu got her BA in English education from Zhejiang Normal University in 2002 and took her MA in interpreting and translation (Mandarin and English) at the University of Nottingham in 2009. Wu is now a lecturer at the College of Foreign Languages, Zhejiang Normal University.
