一、本卷分商、西周、春秋、战国、汉至南北朝、隋唐至元明时期6部分。各部分以出土文物为主，均集中排列。本卷入录出土文物151件，拣选文物52件，传世文物30件。

二、入录精品均为北京地区各博物馆、文管所及文物保护单位的文物藏品。

三、本卷首有”北京地区出土青铜器概论”和”北京地区商周青铜器神幻动物纹的艺术风格”两篇论文。卷尾有”北京出土、征集、拣选有铭青铜器登记表”和较详细的图版说明文字，并附有参考文章目录。

四、青铜器的年代，绝大部分依据出土墓葬的考古断代，拣选征集品经过专家鉴定的，仍以专家鉴定的年代认定。

The abundant and valuable cultural relics of Beijing are an important component of China’s cultural heritage, but for many years, these treasures can be seen only in museums or at some exhibitions.
