Summary: Before the break out of the “September 18 Incident” consequent upon Japan’s invasion of China in 1931, female student Lin Daojing tries to kill herself due to personal reason but is saved by a college student Yu and then they get married. Later Lin meets and is inspired by Lu, a member of the Communist Party and understands that intellectuals can survive only when they participate in the students’ anti-Japanese movement. Encouraged by some members of the Communist Party, Lin joins the Party and becomes one of the leaders of the famous anti-Japanese movement.
