The eight drunken immortals swordplay in Wudang came from the demeanor of eight immortals in Taoism. In the swordplay, the body is drunken but not the steps; steps drunken but not the mind; the mind drunken but not the spirit. Body waves from left to right, like slow-moving clouds and like rapid-flashing thunders. Hardness combines with softness, as if hard to distinguish true from false.
