The important characteristic of taijiquan is that the status of yin and yang plays a leading role in the taijiquan. Respond if there is change of yin and yang. Yin is inseparable from yang, and vice versa. While yang refers to inhaling and opening, yin refers to expanding, exhaling and joining. In a black fish, yin has a white eye, and in a white fish, yang has a black eye. There is yang in the yin, and yin in the yang. This is the gist of the quan theory.
